TUFFCUFF is one of the best purchases that I have ever made. The concepts that are gone through in the book are well thought out.
Tuff Cuff is not worth the money. Available on Amazon for $44.24, used. If you want a general conditioningmanual, I'm sure that you can find a less expensive one on Amazon. The asking price isa little high but the manual is 18 yrs. If the purpose was to provide a basic level of total body fitness, then the author should say so since, except for a small number, the exercises aren't specific to pitchers or baseball.
old so there can't be that many availablecopies and you'll still be saving about $20. If you want something that deals, specifically with the rotator cuff then go to The Seven Minute Rotator Cuff Solution by Jerry Robinson & Joseph Horrigan. The title is somewhat misleading with the phrase, "Tuff Cuff," in large letters and the strength and conditioning partin smaller, white letters, on a red, ribbon type background. No better or worse than other fitness manuals on the market. The rotator cuff section is the smallest section of the book.
It was hailed as a breakthrough work in rotator cuff injury prevention and rehabilitation when it came out in 1991.
My fastball speed jumped from 84 mph to 89 mph this summer, and I touched 91 mph on scout day during fall ball. I can't wait to see if it keeps going up. I started Tuff Cuff in June. This program is SICK.
The book is not cheap, but extremely thorough and worth the expense in my opinion. Serious youth athletes need proper training and technique, and this book is better than a trainer. A trainer at our gym commented that the types of exercises my son performs are perfect for his age. He takes the book to the gym and follows the daily routine. It's excellent. I bought this book for my 14 year old son. It provides him a perfect program as well as proper technique. The pictures in the book make sure the exercises he performs are done correctly.
He was able to start the program much quicker. From a quick review of the schedule it looks to be just what he needed to increase strength and condition his entire body. The book was purchased for a 16 year old baseball pitcher. He has started on the program and really likes it so far (3 weeks out). It will help him in baseball as well as many other physical activities.Amazon got the book to us much quicker than we thought they would.
